Congrats on your decision to adopt! Although you are excited, you are probably a bit nervous and the adoption process in Idaho appears overwhelming , Idaho LEAP is here to guide you throughout the entire process to make it as smooth as possible.
Idaho LEAP assists in all Idaho domestic adoptions, including:
Private Adoptions: Where the adoptive parent(s) have been connected with a child(ren) through family, friends, church, doctor, etc.
Agency Involved Adoptions: Where an agency is involved in the placement by helping birth parent(s) and adoptive parent(s) find and choose each other.
Foster Care Adoptions: Where the child(ren) is in the custody of the state of Idaho.
Guardianship Adoptions: Where the child(ren) are in a minor guardianship, commonly the Guardian is also the potential adoptive parent(s).
Step-Parent Adoptions: Where a step-parent wishes to adopt the child(ren) of their spouse.
Relative Adoptions: Where the adoptive parent(s) are related to the birth parents.
Single-Parent Adoptions: Where a single person wishes to adopt.
Same-Sex Adoptions: Where the adoptive parents are the same sex.
